Saxtons River, VT -- The Vermont Academy girls varsity soccer team (15-5-2) has won the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class D Championship tournament.
On Sunday, November 17, the Wildcats defeated Trumbull, Connecticut’s Christian Heritage School 1-0 in the finals. Junior Maggie Hodgson (Saxtons River, VT) scored the goal and sophomore Elizabeth Pitts (Raymond, NH) earned the assist. Jasmine Creamer (St. John, New Brunswick) was outstanding in goal.
This is the fifth straight year Vermont Academy has played for the NEPSAC Girls Soccer Championship and the third time in five years that they’ve won it. Founded in 1876, Vermont Academy is a small coed college preparatory boarding and day school located in Saxtons River, Vermont, serving grades 9-12 plus a postgraduate year.
