Unbeaten Brunswick Golf Ends Season with 48-0 Record

Brunswick wrapped up a historic season with a victory at the Silo Ridge Challenge Cup on Wednesday in Amenia, N.Y. Topping another 10 teams at the event, the Bruins finished the season with an unblemished mark of 48-0.
On the par-35 layout, the teams played a four-ball format in teams of two-players. The two low pairs count for the team total.
The Brunswick tandem of Ben Carpenter and Chase Caffray shot a tournament-best 29, as Bladen Smith and Owen Hayes carded a 32 for a team low of 61 points. Connor Belcastro and Charlie Marvin posted a 34.
Noting the remarkable accomplishment, 15-year head coach Anthony Fischetti reflected on the undefeated season.
“This team set extremely high goals and then went out and achieved them all,” said Fischetti.

“This season was, in reality, four years in the making, as Belcastro, Marvin, (Matty) Dzialga, and (Matt) Camel all made the team as freshmen. Their consistency was the hallmark -- the team played well to start the season and never really had any sort of dip.  It's hard to win a golf tournament. To win five in the space of a month is remarkable.  To do so when you're favored to win and the rest of the field has placed a target on your back, is even more noteworthy. This team established a precedent that may not be equaled for many years to come. It was that good.”
