Past NEPSAC Athletes Continue to Shine in 2018 NCAA Men's and Women's Lacrosse Tournaments

The NCAA hung out its “Welcome to New England” banner at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., over the Memorial Day weekend to promote its 2018 Men’s Lacrosse Tournament and then looked on as its host teams smacked the rest of the country in the face during the competition.  

For the first time in the 47-year history of the men’s tourney, all three divisional champions hailed from New England. Yale led the trifecta by defeating Duke, 13-11, to earn the Div. I title, while Merrimack prevailed on the Div. II level by crushing Saint Leo, 23-6. Wesleyan then completed the sweep by outlasting Salisbury, 8-6, for the Div. III crown.

Belmont Hill's Danny Seibel '14 Scores 100th Point at Villanova

Villanova senior attackman Danny Seibel scored his 100th point for the Wildcats earlier this season The 100th point came in a March 17th game where Villanova eventually fell to #1 Maryland 11-13. In his ISL playing days, Danny entered Belmont Hill as a freshman, and played both varsity lacrosse and varsity hockey during his time in Belmont.

Sam Cleveland, Rivers '15, Scores 100th Point at Colgate

Colgate junior midfielder Sam Cleveland scored his 100th point for the Red Raiders in Saturday's 10-12 loss to Holy Cross. Sam came to the Rivers School from Arlington High School and played both varsity lacrosse and varsity soccer during his time in Weston. He was a captain for the Red Wings Varsity lacrosse team in 2015, and led the Red Wings to a 12-5 record in that season. He was 5th in the ISL in goals scored as a senior with 40, and tied for 6th in points scored with 57.

Former NEPSAC Lacrosse Standouts Still Standing Out on Collegiate Level

Reunions inevitably occupy the bottom line of the school-year calendar. Throughout the New England prep school community, these last-but-not-least gatherings are typically scheduled for the first or second weekend of June. If you happen to be a lacrosse coach, however, there’s a pretty good chance of getting a head start on this year-end revelry.

The St. Sebastian's lacrosse teamis excited to be heading to Washington, D.C this weekend to compete in the Geico High School Lacrosse Nationals at Catholic University’s Cardinal Stadium, which will stream online via ESPN3. They'll be the #3 seed and will play St. Anne's-Belfield of Virginia.

Brunswick's Buckanavage Selected for Under-Armour All-America Game

Brunswick lacrosse player Alex Buckanavage earned a spot on the coveted spot on the Under Armour Senior All-America Game. The 12th annual event will be played at Towson University on July 1, at 8:00 p.m.
 
Buckanavage, a senior captain from Ridgefield Conn., is a four-year member of the Bruins team coached by David Bruce. In 10 geams this season, the attackman has tallied 15 goals and 15 assists for 12th-ranked team in the latest Inside Lacrosse-Under Armour national poll. Adding his partial senior year totals to his three-year career mark, Buckanavage, who plans to play for the University of Michigan next year, amassed 102 goals and 71 assists.

Cheshire Academy's Michael Annatone '15 Signs Letter of Intent

Michael Annatone ’15 of North Haven has signed a letter of intent to play lacrosse for Saint Leo University in Florida. His family recently gathered in the historic Bowden Hall for the photo-worthy event. The Academy’s 10-6 record in 2014 placed the team fourth in the Western New England Tournament, making it one of the best seasons in the Academy’s history.

Three Portsmouth Abbey Student-Athletes Commit to D-1 Colleges for Lacrosse


PORTSMOUTH, R.I. , December 14, 2012 -- Three of Portsmouth Abbey School’s student-athletes have recently committed to play lacrosse at D-1 colleges with preeminent programs.

Mitchell Kelln, from Malibu, Calif., has committed to the University of Michigan. Mitch was a key offensive player on the Ravens' 2012 EIL Championship team that finished 6-0 in league play (9-6 overall).

Brewster Student Athletes Sign Letters of Intent


In conjunction with National Signing Day on November 14, seven student athletes from Brewster Academy have made commitments to join the sports teams of colleges and universities around the nation next fall.

Basketball player John Edwards has committed to the University of New Hampshire while Elijah Macon will play for the University of West Virginia. Ron Patterson will play for Syracuse University and Kyle Washington has committed to North Carolina State.
