Miles Gendron '14 of Rivers Named Jack Carlton Award Winner

Miles Gendron ’14 was named the 2014 recipient of the Jack Carlton Award, given annually to the best senior boys’ hockey player in Eastern Massachusetts by the Boston Bruins. This honor comes on the heels of a senior season in which Miles captained the Red Wings to the ISL Eberhart Championship and Sportsmanship Award, garnering MVP honors in the process.
A converted forward, Miles anchored the blue line for Rivers and head coach Shawn McEachern this past year and will continue to play defense in college at UConn. He scored six goals with 14 assists during the 2013-14 season, bringing his career totals to 28 goals and 48 assists for 76 points.
Miles received the award on April 12 during the first period intermission, sharing the ice with Bruins’ General Manager Peter Chiarelli and the girls’ recipient, Lexie Laing of Noble & Greenough School.
Miles is the second Rivers hockey player to earn the award, following in the footsteps of Jillian Dempsey ’09 who won the award in 2009.
