Brad Seaton, Brunswick ’12 Drafted by the NFL’s Tennessee Titans
Brad Seaton, a 2012 graduate of Brunswick, was selected by the NFL’s Tennessee Titans in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft on Saturday. The Brunswick standout was a three-year starter on the offensive line for the Villanova Wildcats, earning all-league honors this past season.
Seaton, listed at 6’8” and 329 pounds, was selected by the Titans with the 236th pick of the draft. Being officially named a Titan seems to fit the physical stature of the former Bruin.
A three-sport Brunswick standout, Seaton was an all-league selection for head football coach Jarrett Shine ’92 on the gridiron, played basketball for coach Robert Taylor, and was a member of Taylor’s track team, on which Seaton threw the discus.
As an all-league defensive lineman, Seaton’s athleticism was always on display. According to Shine, Seaton had the potential and drive to become an incredible football player. “With only seven years in all playing football, his upside is incredible,” noted Shine.
“He was determined to change his life [and] with the help from the faculty here at Brunswick, his dream finally came true. He will and already has made us proud,” Shine added.
Following a redshirt season at Villanova, Seaton earned a starting spot at the coveted left tackle position in 2014, where he became a three-year mainstay for the Wildcats. Seaton was a key component for the nation’s best scoring and rushing offense in 2014, and earned a second-team All-Colonial Athletic Association nod in 2016.
